Light a Candle
Joanne Austin, 71, of Westerly, passed peacefully in her home on Jan. 14.
Joanne was born in Roxbury, Mass., and before making her final home in Rhode Island, spent her formative years in Boston.
She was a loving wife to R. James Austin, and mother to Christine Misto, of Westerly, and Darren Austin, of Wakefield, and grandmother of three. She is also survived by three siblings and many nieces and nephews.
Joanne's career began as an executive assistant in the Boston Gas Company and she retired after many years at the Westerly School Department. Joanne's best moments were spent traveling, gardening, homemaking, and lazy summer days at Seaside Beach Club Cabana 49
